THE STRATEGY
ROADLAB aims are to become the dominant Civil Engineering Materials Laboratory, equipment and services provider in Sub-Saharan Africa. It shall maximize profitability and shareholder value by delivering products and services that lead in quality, innovation, customer satisfaction and value as measured against the highest engineering standards and international best practices. ROADLAB shall aggressively market its’ brand, by:
• Building upon previous goodwill and brand awareness created in the marketplace since 1965.
• Building new goodwill by proactively strengthening personal ties with key clients;
• Actively pursuing development opportunities within and beyond South Africa.

MISSION STATEMENT
ROADLAB shall maximize services and financial benefits to its customers by leveraging its significant and substantial experience in its core business areas (soil and gravel testing, aggregate testing, asphalt and bitumen testing, concrete testing, road pavement evaluation and site laboratories) to deliver products and services that lead in quality, innovation, customer satisfaction and value as measured against the highest industry standards and international best practices. We shall deliver our products and services as a team, ever conscious of our responsibilities to our client, ourselves, our partners, our employees and the communities in which we live, particularly the advancement of currently and historically disadvantaged persons through proactive internal and externalpractices.

SAFETY, HEALTH AND QUALITY POLICIES
ROADLAB observes the highest standards of occupational health and safety.
As such, we maintain a comprehensive Safety Plan, broadly divisible into two components:
(a) Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Protection Agreement; and
(b) Health and Safety Manual.
ROADLAB requires every person and third party employed by us, whether internally or externally, to become familiar with our health and safety standards, practices and procedures as contained in the ROADLAB Health and Safety Manual and to observe the same while performing services for our clients. The ROADLAB Health and Safety Manual fully comply with all OHS requirements. The primary objective of the Health and Safety Manual is to promote, preserve and enforce a healthy, safe and secure work environment for all parties.
ROADLAB has also instituted a comprehensive Quality Management Plan (‘QMP’) covering each aspect of its proposed relationship with Client, including quality management and quality systems procedures, both for internal relationships and external relationships with third parties. The purpose of the QMP is to plan and define those quality management requirements and responsibilities to assure Client that our products and services are delivered to the highest standards of international best practices. ROADLAB is accredited testing laboratory in accordance with the ISO 17025 Quality system procedures.

ROADLAB and its’ subsidiaries include strong BEE partners, thus ensuring that the company not only complies but surpasses all needs of the community. Indeed, we enjoy strong and meaningful black economic empowerment (‘BEE’) participation at every level of our organization. Enterprise Development form part of our long term goal, to develop & empower previously disadvantaged individuals and companies to provide them with technical assistance, resources and skills development
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POLICY
We shall deliver our products and services to Clients as a team, ever conscious of our responsibilities to our client, ourselves, our partners, our employees and the communities in which we live, particularly the advancement of currently and historically disadvantaged persons through proactive internal and external practices.
OUR PERSONNEL AND TRAINING
Roadlab believes that upliftment of staff goes further than the workplace and have assisted our staff in obtaining drivers licenses and loans from housing societies. Roadlab has even provided housing loans to its staff.
Roadlab seeks to achieve the transfer of skills through in-house training of personnel during normal working hours. Training classes are arranged on Saturdays and attendance is voluntary. Through these in-house training promising candidates are also identified for further extensive off site training.
Roadlab staff has been sent for Sabita, Asphalt Academy, SARF & SAICE courses. They have also been on CCI training courses and bursaries have been given for University studies.
We will continue to contribute to the construction industry by creating work, by educating and by training the historically disadvantaged sector and thereby uplift the local communities in those areas where we are active.
